Messages from President Abrams
SEPTEMBER 2008 ACCORDING TO ABE
Well, it’s hard to believe another year is coming to a close. This will be my last newsletter as your president. I want to thank everyone in our unit for your support throughout this year. It made my job so much easier.
We’ve had good rallies, great fellowshiop, and, as always, good food. Even though our unit is small, we have the greatest group of people anywhere, and we don’t have to take a back seat to anyone!
I want to thank Bob Moyers, our Region 5 president, for a great Region 5 rally at Brandenburg. There were a total of 76 trailers and motorhomes in attendance. I was proud of the Southern Indiana Unit. Based on total number of members, we had the highest percentage of trailers in attendance.
Bill Schrader has worked up a promotional brochure for our Unit and will present it at our October rally at John and Carrie Hays’ house in Radcliff, Kentucky. As usual Bill has done a fantastic job.
We want to welcome new members, Mike and Sarah Miller and their family, into our Unit. Linda and I met Mike at the Region 5 Rally and introduced him to several of you. Mike and Sarah are from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. They plan to attend the October Rally at John and Carrie’s house.
Linda and I hope to see everyone at the October Rally. This will be our installation rally. Billy Miller will be installed as president; John Hays as vice president; and Linda Abrams and Nancy Broglin will continue as treasurer and secretary.
We look forward to seeing everyone down the road. Happy travelin’.
AUGUST 2008
I am sitting here writing this newsletter, and its 95 degrees outside and humid. Linda has me helping her shuck corn and snap green beans…Not much fun, but it sure will be good eating later.
By now, those of you who attended the International Rally in Bozeman are already back or on your way. We look forward to hearing about your experiences at the rally.
We have 10 couples bringing their trailers to the Bardstown rally. All arrangements have been made, and the tentative schedule has been set. It should be a good rally.
John Hays is working on a slate of officers for next year. We will elect new officers at our business meeting on Wednesday morning at the rally. Installation of the officers will be at our October rally, which will be at Carrie and John Hays’ house.
We extend our condolances to the Ken VanHart family. Ken was a former International President of WBCCI and a Unit President of the Central Indiana Unit. Ken died on his way to the Bozeman rally. Those of us at the Madison, Ind. rally remember all the fun we had with him — especially during the auction.
I hope you are having a good summer. Linda and I are looking forward to seeing those of you coming to the Bardstown rally. I hope you are making plans to attend the Region 5 rally at Brandenburg, KY in September, too.
November, 2007
Well, another year has gone, and as I sit here writing this article and trying to do this "President Thing", I want to thank all those who helped make 2007 a great year for the club. I am always willing to list
All the luncheons and rallies have been set up (see the list of 2008 events). However, we do need volunteers to act as hostesses. If you would be willing to be host a luncheon or one of the rallies, please contact Linda at 1-270-685-1610 or e-mail her at warden25@bellsouth.net
We need to thank Bill Schrader for our new web site. It looks great! Gpod job, Bill!!
Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. Linda and I hope to see everyone at the Christmas luncheon at the Schnitzelbank Restaurant in Jasper on Wednesday, December 12, at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Linda and I wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.
